HitmanTM Water Conditioner
The HitmanTM Advantage
Hitman™ is a unique, patented spray water conditioner and utility modifier specifically formulated for glyphosate and other weak acid herbicides to enhance efficacy in challenging application conditions
- Improves herbicide performance at the lowest registered rate. Hitman™ helps get more glyphosate into weeds to support faster glyphosate absorption.
- Advanced rainfastness. Hitman™ provides more flexibility for preharvest applications without having to worry about weather conditions.
- Better control of hard to kill weeds. By preventing herbicide inactivation from hard water, dusty leaf surfaces and dirty weeds, Hitman™ boosts the rate and efficiency of herbicide movement into the leaf.
- Prevents loss of herbicide activity. Hitman™ sequesters and chelates hard water ions that can tie up and inactivate chemical molecules.
- Reduces issues with mixing, handling and application.
- Reduces pesticide costs. There is no need to offset chemical inactivation by increasing concentrations. You can achieve superior results at recommended rates.

Glyphosate is easily inactivated by several common environmental factors.
- This leads to poor weed control, which is a major contributor to yield losses.
- When pesticides are mixed into hard water, minerals like calcium, magnesium and iron bind to glyphosate molecules, preventing glyphosate uptake by the plant. The harder the water, the less active ingredient is available in the spray solution.
- Dust on leaf surfaces also acts like hard water to inactivate the glyphosate molecule, reducing its effectiveness.
- Some weeds like lambsquarters, dandelion and buckwheat contain high levels of calcium and magnesium in the leaf surface and cuticle so that when glyphosate lands on leaves, minerals inactivate the herbicide.
Higher pesticide concentration can overcome hard water issues, but also increases costs.
Without investing in more pesticide, farmers lose out on effective weed control – which means lower yields at harvest.
Hitman™ is most commonly mixed with glyphosate in pre- and post-burn applications, but can also be applied in-crop on glyphosate resistant crops, as well as with other herbicides like 2,4-D, MCPA, carfentrazone, dicamba and others.
